Definition of success by Ralph Waldo Emerson’s
To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child or a garden patch to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is a success.”
Meaning of Success
The true meaning of success is beyond the common definitions of success like having a lot of money, being wealthy, having a lot of tangibles, and earning degrees. true success in life cannot be measured with the above-named factors, but instead with the number of people able to live a better and more advanced life because of what you created. This is the meaning of success. Not the trophies people are collecting in their lives. Media and society let us often conclude that living a successful life means being extraordinarily wealthy and having a lot of tangibles.
Success means living a happy life and to make this world a better place for everyone.
If you look at Indian history, Gandhi brought in a whole revolution by just picking up a pinch of salt and changing the history of an entire nation, imagine what setting up a goal for yourself could do
Defining success may not be difficult. Stop being too harsh on yourself. It takes a lot to start believing in yourself. Once you learn to do that, success would be following you.
Once Barack Obama said, “The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won’t. It’s whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere.”
If you have ever read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, it gives a very simple mantra – The most successful people are the most rejected people in the world. If you have read about Abraham Lincoln, you will realize he failed a number of times before he became the President of the United States of America.
Success overpowering failure. It is accepting ourselves for who we are and learning from it to not repeat it ever again. If a practicing lawyer feels that chances of his might are not able to win a single case for a few years. Giving it his best shot is what defines him. If he learns from the mistakes, he won’t repeat them again. The famous phrase ‘Try Try Try Till You Succeed’.
