INTRODUCTION

The Supreme Court collegium had recommended the appointment of four advocates and five judicial officers as judges of the MP High Court. While the Centre has approved the elevation of the five judicial officers proposed by the Collegium, it has cleared only two out of the four advocates it recommended. The MP High Court has 33 judges out of the sanctioned strength of 53. With the new appointments, the vacancies will come down to 13.
