INTRODUCTION

In a recent event, a complaint has been filed against the Bollywood Movie Patthan for hurting the religious sentiment of the Hindu Community. same as there are many Bollywood Movies that went through legal issues.

When a movie is made not only Filmmaker puts in a lot of effort the people who are involved with the process of movie-making have to face many hurdles and sometimes they have to face legal issues.

Movie – Patthan

Pathaan movie has been facing backlash ever since they dropped the first song, Besharam Rang, online. Featuring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan, the party number has courted controversy over the attires they’ve worn in the song. It all started when Madhya Pradesh Minister took a dig at the actress for wearing saffron coloured bikini following which it spark debate and controversy on social media and on news channels. Now in the latest development, a complaint has been filed against the lead actor for hurting religious sentiments.

Sudhir Ojha, a Muzaffarpur-based lawyer has filed a complaint seeking FIR against Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone before the CJM court on Friday. Reportedly, the matter will be heard on January 3. Outside the court, Ojha later told reporters, “The song ‘Besharam Rang’ of the film ‘Pathaan’ is objectionable and it hurts the sentiments of the Hindu community,”

Movie – Jolly LLB 2

Akshay Kumar- Jolly LLB 2 had made it to the headlines as a show brand had sent a legal notice to the makers for showing their brand in a bad light in the movie. Later, the dialogue from the movie where the name of the brand was mentioned was removed.

Movie – Padmaavat

When we talk about films that faced legal issues, how can we forget Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. From death threats to protests, a lot of things happened before the movie was released. A few states had banned the release of the film, so the makers approached the Supreme Court for the same and the ban was lifted.

Movie – Gangubai Kathiawadi

Sanjay Leela Bhansali and controversies go hand-in-hand. Not just Padmaavat, but even Gangubai Kathiawadi had faced legal issues. A few petitions were filed to stay the release of the film. But, the petitions were dismissed and the movie got a smooth release.

Movie – Udta Punjab

Many petitions were filed against the makers of Udta Punjab as people felt that it shows Punjab, the state in a negative light. However, The courts in India ruled out that it contains nothing objectionable.

Movie – Jhund

Hyderabad-based filmmaker Nandi Chinni Kumar has accused the makers of copyright infringement. However, the makers of Jhund have denied the allegation. Kumar claimed he had bought the rights in November 2017 for his film titled Slum Soccer, which was based on the life of slum soccer player Akhilesh Paul, the Indian captain at the Homeless World Cup. The story of Jhund is based on Paul’s coach Vijay Barse.

Kumar claims that the makers of Jhund told him that they bought the rights from Kumar, although Kumar gave him three no-objection certificates which clearly say that he did not sell the rights to the makers. The Telangana High Court has stalled the release of Jhund and the Supreme Court has refused to lift it.

Movie – Bombay Begums

The show got into trouble with the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights. The NCPCR issued a legal notice to Bombay Begums to stop airing the show due to its inappropriate portrayal of children. It also claimed that a show like this would pollute young minds and result in the exploitation of children. In the show, a 13-year-old was shown snorting cocaine. There was also an issue about girls sending inappropriate pictures of body parts to boys.

Movie – Bajirao Mastani’

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s 2015 last film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ saw protests in several parts of Maharashtra. Local BJP cadres participated in the protest and demanded a ban on the film. They believed the film had distorted facts about the era of Peshwa rulers. Many shows of the film were canceled after BJP activists gathered outside cinema halls. They were particularly concerned about the depiction of Kashibai, the wife of Bajirao Peshwa, in the film. Priyanka Chopra played that role.

Movie – My Name Is Khan

Karan Johar’s film about an autistic man’s take on Islamophobia faced trouble after its leading man Shah Rukh Khan made remarks about allowing Pakistani cricketers to play in Indian cricket leagues. Shiv Sena objected to SRK’s comments and disrupted the screening of the 2010 movie at several theatres across Maharashtra.

Movie – Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ was already in the news for its star cast, but it found itself in trouble over Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s presence in the film. His presence in the film saw great opposition from political groups owing to India’s freshly strained relations with Pakistan over the Uri attacks. The director was forced to shoot a video to clarify his intentions, saying that when he cast Fawad in the film, relations between the two neighbouring countries weren’t as strained.
